When designing our new on site bar at Sands of Luce we decided early on that we didn’t just want another caravan park bar. We wanted a bar that would not loo out of place in a trendy city. A bar that was fresh, bright and inviting. Somewhere the whole family could enjoy good company, great food and a drink or two. A place where all of our visitors would feel comfortable and want to frequent. This was a challenge but one we were most definitely up for!
It’s all in the design……
To create the ultimate caravan park bar we were going to clearly need help! This is where we decided to employ the professional assistance of one of Glasgows leading bar designers, Mark Brunjes of CM Design. Mark is better used to designing ultra trendy bars and retail spaces for clients such as Brewdog and Superdry. His design input has had much influence in Glasgows trendy West End. Needless to say we were the first caravan park to approach him. Mark seemed strangely enticed by this project and was keen to help. He took our ideas and created a design, that on paper at least looked exactly like what we were after.
Knowing that we had a fantastic team of skilled tradesman at our disposal we were confident that we could turn the designs to reality. What we didn’t know was just how much work was ahead of us!
Did the hard work pay off? We like to think so! We have now got a bar to be proud of and initial feed back has been very good. However, providing a top quality eating and drinking establishment isn’t just in the design though. The real challenge is in the quality of your product and service. This is why we have introduced many new exciting product lines to sit alongside established favourites. Expect to see a wider selection of gins and whiskeys new local beers, ciders and a wine menu.
Of course it’s not just about the drink! We have made a pizza kitchen with a real stone pizza oven. The result is thin crispy authentic Italian pizzas. Our small pizza menu incorporates fresh quality ingredients and are prepared with flair and passion. With influences from Nepal’s, New York and Scotland. Our pizzas are quite unique and something worth checking out!
Wake up and smell the coffee……
We believe nothing starts the day better than a fresh cup of coffee. In fact coffee is something we take extremely seriously! We have invested in a top of the range coffee machine and given our staff extensive training in how to operate it. This alongside our ethically sourced, Glasgow roasted coffee make for one tasty cup of coffee!
What good is a coffee without a tasty treat? Now you can enjoy a selection of home baked goods. On the bar you may see scones, croissants, carrot cake, tray bakes and a few specials. What’s more we have a variety of quality breakfast options. From American pancakes to a full breakfast featuring bacon and sausage from an organic free range pork farm.
We have a great selection of all new live bands for the 2016 season. From live acoustic unplugged sessions to floor filling bands made to get everyone grooving. Check out our on-line calendar to stay up to date.
