Being just a mile from Portpatrick, you won’t have to go far to become engrossed in the tall green hedges at this leading family attraction.

Everybody loves the fun of dangling the crab line over the harbour wall and anticipating the crab catch. Portpatrick is home to the perfect crabbing location for some simple, summer family fun. Crabbing is an excellent way to introduce children to the marine ecology.
Remember, crabs like bait such as fish, chicken and bacon. You and the little ones will be more likely to succeed if you’ve got your essentials: bait, a bucket, and a weight heavy enough to keep the bait at the bottom. Portpatrick harbour is based in the heart of the village.
What visitors are saying: “This colourful village is absolutely gorgeous on a sunny day and people from the surrounding areas flock in for the beer, food and atmosphere.”
