This year, despite everything, we were fortunate enough to have been able to open just in time for the summer – and the season has been fantastic for us here at Sands of Luce Holiday Park! It seems that it’s not just us who love being beachside in the gorgeous Luce Bay area as we have been fully-booked for the whole summer. Our idyllic, remote location and wonderful holiday home owners and guests who have been abiding by the social distancing rules, have made for a winning combination over the past couple of months.
Autumn Time

Sandhead is positioned at the top of a peninsula on the West coast of Scotland – in fact, it’s not too far away from Northern Ireland. For those that love the beach, our park is situated right next to the stunning Luce Bay, offering you miles of Scottish coastline to explore. What’s more, the whole local area is surrounded by breathtaking nature – and the social distancing rules can easily be applied here! Don your walking boots and explore the stunning autumnal scenery throughout the Dumfries and Galloway countryside – we recommend you bring a camera too: it’s picture perfect.
Get Up to Watch the Sunrise
We love the long summer days, but how often do you get to see the sun rise and set in the same day? Unless you’re a really early bird, you don’t get to watch the sunrise too often – perhaps the thought of leaving the warm bed in your luxury holiday home at the crack of dawn is enough to put you off. However, one of the great things about the shorter days is that the ‘crack of dawn’ is at a slightly more reasonable hour! Our fantastic beachside location, next to seven miles of golden sands, is the perfect place to be, cosied up in a blanket with a flask of hot tea to watch the sunrise above the horizon – so calm and peaceful before the world wakes up. When was the last time you watched the sun rise?

There’s no doubt that the Scottish scenery will be stunning at this time of year, but Sands of Luce Holiday Park is also fortunate enough to be positioned in an area that produces lots of delicious food all year round. The autumn is no exception and we make use of all the seasonal produce from small local businesses and farms in The Lighthouse Bar. Our tasty woodfired pizzas are always a hit – and they’re even better with autumnal toppings!
